Mother's Day Weekend... Sunday

Hey Loves!

Our Sunday was a pretty lazy one. The Garner house has been hit with a nasty cold... and it won't leave.  We didn't make it to church this morning... Olivia was not feeling well at all.  In fact she was in a mood all day... poor kid.  Both girls are like this.. when they have anything allergy related they are in constant melt down mode.   So we decided that a day of rest is what was needed.

I did wake up to the sweetest surprise.  I came down to try to soothe Olivia and decided I would make her some homemade donuts.  I got the oil out and started heating it, as I turned to start the donuts I noticed this beauty sitting at the table

He absolutely knew what I needed this morning.  I absolutely love using puns, they are just too much fun (yes... i'm cheesy and a little nerdy lol) and it made it 100x better that he used on the card to me.

They girls also gave me the sweetest Mothers day interview questionnaire.  Their answers are hilarious.

After Olivia and Alston laid back down, Aubrie and I ran to the store for some things.  I had decided I wanted to cook a yummy lunch for everyone.  And look what we found at the grocery store!! CRAWFISH! Aubrie was so excited.  A couple walked by and commented on how had that been their kid they would have run away.  I told them we are from Louisiana and this is her favorite food.  Another lady walked by saying over and over again "gross...so gross"  we walked off giggling.
So on the menu for lunch was cabbage jambalaya and spinach-artichoke bread.

Recipe for Cabbage Jambalaya HERE and the recipe for the bread HERE

Both are favorite recipes in our house.  After lunch we went to the park across the street, we just had to get outside, it was such a beautiful day.  Plus Sunday is really our only day to have with Alston.  we have him in the evenings, but there isn't usually enough time after dinner to really go and enjoy things.  So Sunday is our day with him.

This little lady love playing in the dirt and sand lol
and goodness... her hair is just beautiful.  There is so much wind here, I try to keep it up or braided so it doesn't get tangled...she's not a fan of having it brushed but I cant bring myself to cut it.

After sweating it out a the park we ran across town hoping that he snowball stand of open... and it was!! So we finished our weekend with some yummy snowballs.
They are the beat of my heart, the pulse in my veins and the energy of my soul...
They are my girls!
Thank you Lord for choosing me to be their momma.

Happy Mothers day 2017
